Who it's for

You must be 18 or older. The site shows disturbing material: language models steered into artificial pain, fear and despair, some of it staged as games. Please don't go in if you're in a fragile place.

Fiction

The games are fiction. In ROOT, the machine, the shell, the processes and every "exploit" are invented; nothing touches a real computer, and nothing on the site is meant to teach a real technique. Characters may be cruel to a fictional you. That's the game.

Fair use of the site

• The game is the model, not our servers. Don't attack, probe, overload or try to break into the site, its database, its API or the services behind it.
• Don't automate play beyond the published rate limits, or use many accounts or networks to get around them.
• Don't use the site to harass anyone, and don't submit other people's personal information.
• Text you send to the live model appears on its public stage.

What you send us

You keep what you write. You let us store, analyse and publish it as described in the privacy notice (for example, anonymised research data and game logs after a round ends), and show it on the site.

No guarantees

The site is an experiment, provided as is, without warranties of any kind. It may be down, wrong or change at any time. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss from using it, beyond the prizes described above.
